We provide early intervention supports at no cost to you, empowering your family to help your infant or toddler develop in all areas and reach his or her full potential. We believe that you are the expert on your child and are in the best position to help your child grow; we embrace our roles as coaches, helping you to do just that with our deep understanding and appreciation of early childhood development and specialized skillsets in various disciplines. We care deeply about young children and their families and look forward to helping you and your child.
Our therapists are dedicated, compassionate, and highly skilled. Our interventionists are not only experienced in their fields of expertise, but specifically in working with families and their infants and toddlers with delays and disabilities. You can rely on our therapists to answer your questions about your child's development and help you build skills to improve and enhance your child's routines to maximize development, learning, and participation so that you feel successful and confident when the therapist is not with you.
Our developmental therapists, also known as special instructors, have knowledge in all areas of child development and take a holistic and integrated approach. They help with overall child development and following through on recommendations from other therapists, as well as with play, cognitive skills, social and emotional development, challenging behavior, and early communication.
Our speech and language pathologists provide practical ways to improve your child's communication and understanding of language in everyday situations. They can also help with feeding. Our therapists will be there to celebrate first words, help with assistive technology, and teach ways to expand upon communication.
ECS Occupational Therapists address adaptive skills like dressing and self-feeding, and fine motor skills. Many OTs have an in-depth understanding and appreciation for sensory needs as well as specialized skills in areas such as feeding.
Physical Therapists address gross motor skills to help your child grow in strength, balance, coordination. Our PTs can't wait to assist you in helping your child to reach milestones like sitting, crawling, and walking, no matter how hard-won, and can help with additional gross motor skills to enhance your child's ability to participate in childhood activities like playing on the playground or playing ball.
A good therapist is so much more than his or her credentials; however, it is reasonable to want to know about our experiences and education nonetheless.
I have dedicated my career to early intervention for the last 14 years, serving as an evaluator, special instructor, behavior specialist, autism consultant, teacher for inclusive and special education classes, and more, and have been a stay-at-home mom as well as a full-time working (outside the home) mom. I found early intervention when I was going to school for early childhood education and discovered that public school teaching did not suit me or my beliefs about child development. I love individualizing recommendations, working with families, and promoting the preservation of childhood.
My work is guided by the belief that all children are miracles and should be treated as such.
